Biography:
Dr. Blanchette is a clinical epidemiologist and health services researcher with over 20 years of experience as a professor, consultant, and industry scientist leading research teams in identifying and measuring chronic diseases and evaluating pharmaceutical treatment and healthcare services on clinical, economic, and humanistic outcomes. Specifically, his expertise is in clinical research/experimental epidemiology; real-world evidence (RWE)/ observational epidemiology; health economics and outcomes research (HEOR); and, data science/analytics of real-world clinical data (RWD). In his current role, he leads the Clinical Development and Outcomes Research department at Novo Nordisk in the US which includes over 50 physician-scientists, epidemiologists, health economists, public health scientists, and health services researchers working across Clinical Development, Health Economics, and Outcomes Research (HEOR), Real World Evidence (RWE) and Evidence Synthesis and Value Assessment teams to develop clinical and real-world evidence on the use of their products. In addition to his full-time position Dr. Blanchette is also an Adjunct Professor with Saint Joseph’s University Erivan Haub School of Business, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Eshelman School of Pharmacy, the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University, and the School of Data Science at UNC Charlotte.
