Chemere Davis (Vice Chair)
Chemere is currently the Vice Chair for the School of Data Science’s Industry Advisory Board and the Senior Business Manager for the Microsoft Charlotte Engineering Hub & Community. She is a data scientist by training, having joined Microsoft in December 2020. She has worked in the Artificial Intelligence field in financial services and software development. In her current role, she is leading efforts to create a purposeful and impactful employee experience for Charlotte based engineers and program managers, building and fortifying a talent pipeline for future engineering talent at Microsoft and leaning into the power of community outreach. Chemere is passionate about being a D&I advocate locally and nationally as a member of the Microsoft Diversity in STEM Steering Committee, the Black & Minority Student Day Tech Conference Lead for BAM (Blacks at Microsoft), and a member of Women at Microsoft Charlotte. She is a regular speaker on the topics of launching a career in AI and advocating for diverse voices in AI. Chemere is also a member of the UNC Charlotte School of Data Science Industry Advisory Board.
