Biography: Richard Sheinis, a legal professional and Partner at Hall Booth Smith, P.C. Based in Charlotte, Richard is recognized for his expertise in Data Privacy and Cyber Security Law, where he specializes in areas such as data breach response, HIPAA/HITECH security, global enterprise privacy planning, GDPR readiness, and mobile device program development. His extensive legal experience encompasses working with healthcare providers, technology developers, and vendors.  Richard is certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals as a Certified International Privacy Professional (CIPP-US), Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT), and as a Fellow of International Privacy (FIP). He is a seasoned litigator with approximately 200 jury trials under his belt. He regularly represents defendants in data breach and data privacy cases, including class actions.  Richard has led several hundred data breach investigations involving cyber extortion, ransomware, and other types of cyber security incidents and privacy violations. Richard Sheinis is also a thought leader and contributor to the legal community. His numerous certifications, affiliations, and significant contributions to the field underscore his impact and standing in the realm of Data Privacy and Cyber Security Law.
