Kornelia Bastin

Biography: Kornelia is a Principal Data Scientist in the NL team at Ally, where she works on natural language tasks including automated summarization. Her research focuses on text analytics using NLP, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Neural network techniques together with visualization. Previously Kornelia was a Lead Data Scientist in the AI Innovation team at Truist and a senior developer in GM’s Motorsport organization  providing support to NASCAR teams on image processing/object detection, speech-to-text, entity detection, and relationship extraction.  Kornelia has also held numerous data science roles in media and marketing agencies in the US, UK and Poland. Kornelia completed her Ph.D. with a co-major in Operations Research and Computer Science at North Carolina State University.
